Hi, I'm Jim Blight and I'd like to teach you piano.
Music's always been my life. Since an early age I've had a penchant for playing piano, popular styles in particular, and doing arrangements for the piano. By age 9, I was already playing at events. This skill I carried through University, where I was playing piano dates which helped put me through school. Since graduating with my Masters in music [composition], I've been developing my own creative approach to teaching piano. For over 20 years, I've been helping people of all ages, kids and up, to enjoy playing the piano in a fun way. Major styles I teach include popular, jazz and blues, as well as classical piano.
I can make learning piano fun for your child and have had many students begin with me at age 5 and continue with me through to university. If you're an adult beginner, I'll have you playing and moving ahead quickly. I am also an expert composer/ arranger and I do custom piano arrangements for my students at a level they can have fun with -- at no extra cost.
If you're a pro, I can coach you on how to arrange your songs and sound great and/or show you how to accompany yourself if you are a singer. Piano stylings are my forte.
By the way, should your piano need tuning, I am also a piano tuner and will be happy to tune it for you.
